About the Gong

With its great overtone-rich sounds, the Gong fills the room with ease and wraps us in a magical sound coat. We react in a full body to its releasing and ordering vibrations. They touch us down to the level of tissues and organs. Our nervous system and our emotions also respond strongly to the Gong. It brings us wonderfully in touch with ourselves and gives us a wide range of physical and emotional experiences.

Played gently and softly, the Gong invites us to let go of all our thinking, planning, and worries, and just listen to it. This leads to a deep relaxation and is a pleasure for body, mind and soul. Played strong and powerful, the Gong vibrates all body cells, stimulates our self-healing powers and provides us with vitalizing energy. We fill up with energy and feel refreshed and stimulated.

Our Gongs are something truly special. They are individually made by the order, we don’t have them in stock. That is why we can give prices only on request. All the Gongs we sell are handmade in the traditional Chinese way, where they were invented about 5000 years ago. We offer Gongs starting from 55 cm Ø to 100 cm Ø. Larger Gongs up to 130 cm Ø are available on request.

Chau Gong

Chau Gong / Tam Tam Gong

The Chau Gong also known as Tam Tam Gong is heavier than the Wind gong. It has a very earthy, grounding character with well resolved tones, both low and high.

If the Chao gong is earth, then the wind gong is sky. Chao gongs have a charcoal grey colored rim, with a large polished playing area.

Tam Tam Gongs are particularly suitable for:

• Sound and fantasy journeys
• Meditations
• Concerts
• Body therapeutic settings
• Sound educational settings

Wind Gong

Wind Gong / Sun Gong

The Wind Gong is flatter and lighter than the Chao Gong. Its sound pattern is instantly low-pitched and full as soon as it is lightly struck.

When struck more strongly, the sound effect is explosive up to a lasting roar.
Wind Gongs smaller than 30” are sounding light and bright. Starting from a size of 32” they gain depth in the bass , creating an overwhelmingly grounding effect.

Wind Gongs are particularly suitable for:

• Release blockages on the body
• Chakra work
• In the aura work (loosening the aura, aura-painting)
• Harmonization and strengthening of the spine
• Promote blood circulation
• Energizing

Feng Gong

Feng Gong / Sun Gong

The sound of the Feng Gong is rather deep as soon as it is slightly struck. If you strike harder, the sound will be explosive / splashy until you hear a steady noise.

The vibration captures all the material, which leads to a large abundance of overtones, but disappear again faster than the Chao Gong. The bigger the gong, the bigger and more impressive are the results you can achieve with different techniques (tempo, velocity, rhythm, muffling, etc.).

Even with different gong mallets you can experiment and come to different sound results.

Fen Gongs are particularly suitable for:

• Release blockages on the body
• Chakra work
• In the aura work (loosening the aura, aura-painting)
• Harmonization and strengthening of the spine
• Promote blood circulation
• Energizing

Bao Gong

Bao Gong

The Bao Gong is very different from other Chinese gongs in that it features a raised boss, or nipple, in the center. For this reason they are often referred to as nipple gongs.

Bao Gongs have a very clear and beautiful tone without much of the shimmer found in other gongs. In fact they have more of a bell sound with a distinctive pitch while still producing subtle harmonic overtones.

They are available in a range of sizes with smaller ones having a higher pitch, and larger ones having a deeper pitch.
