Alumni Story

Emily Awad, Founder of Mudita Wellness and Yoga School

I grew up playing music, singing, and dancing which is what led me to yoga and sound. When I first heard and felt the effects of the Himalayan bowls I knew I needed to learn more about their healing benefits. I could feel my body transforming and healing on a deep cellular level in real time, something I had never felt before. Going to the source to study in Nepal with Sound of Himalaya was a life changing experience, and it gave me more tools and perspective to offer sound in an authentic way. The kindness, thoughtfulness, and compassion of everyone at the farm and in the program is what makes it so unique. If you want to learn from people who love what they do and are passionate about their commitment to helping others, this is the place for you.

In addition, the opportunity to connect to the land while learning here provides such a rich and inspirational environment, with a back drop of the Himalayas, and the farm to nurture your spirit. I had already been practicing and studying sound for almost a decade, and studying here only enhanced what I could put into practice at my yoga studios. People that I work in service with love that sound is non-invasive and accessible. It is truly for everyone. I get so excited every time someone shares their experiences of profound healing, rest, and mental clarity from our sessions together. Iโ€™ve had the unique opportunity to notice the patterns of healing over many years now, and it never ceases to amaze me how effective sound therapy treatment is. I am so grateful and honored to do this important work that creates such a lasting, positive impact.
